Public Invited to Help Choose the Official Name of the Cameron County Dark Sky Park
Voting by Donation Open December 1 – January 31
Cameron County, PA — The public is invited to help select the official name of the new dark sky park currently referred to as the Cameron County Dark Sky Park. From December 1 through January 31, individuals and organizations across the region and beyond may vote for their favorite name option by making a donation to the name they would like to see chosen.
The five name options developed through community and stakeholder collaboration are:
1. Cameron County Celestial Park
2. Sylvan Skies
3. Sterling Star Lane
4. May Hollow Skyway
5. Onyx Meadow
Votes can be cast in two ways:
● By Venmo: @CameronCountyChamber (voters must include the name they are voting for in the payment note)
● In person: Donation jars labeled with each name option are available at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce and the Cameron County Recreation Center.
Donations of any amount are welcome.
All proceeds directly support the development of the dark sky park.
Funds will be used for the park’s official Dark Sky designation application fee, as well as project implementation outlined in the site’s Master Plan.

The name receiving the most donations by January 31, 2026 will be selected as the park’s official name. For more information, please contact:
