A note from Brianna Bell, Director of Food and Nutrition at CCSD:
I’d like to take a moment to appreciate my staff for going above and beyond, day in and day out. These ladies have been through a lot since TNG has taken over the district 6 years ago. Not having a permanent director/mentor to help guide them in an upward direction in the past hasn’t stopped these ladies from overcoming every obstacle that has been in their path to success. I have been with Cameron County District for 1.5 years and the growth I have seen from my team has been remarkable. You wouldn’t think that they have been through so much with the performance they bring to the table every single day. Their attitude towards their work and how they go about their day most definitely reflects on their work and the students that come through every day. These posts aren’t even a fraction of the love that they have for their jobs. At least once a day I hear one of my staff members say that they’ve never loved a job more than the one they have now, or how much they love working together. It is moments like these that matter most to the students that come through every day. The students' attitudes and appreciation for the department are a reflection of my staff. The relationships and bonds that have been created over the years with all age groups is one that I cannot describe.
With more structure and positivity that has been established in the department, the more my staff has been more involved in planning and creating special events for the students and planning new menu items for the students to try! I couldn’t be any prouder of the team that I have and what they do every day!
