Cameron County Community Chest 2025 Fund Drive – January Update
Through January 31st, we have collected $14,419 toward our goal of $16,600. Thanks to all who have
contributed. This drive will run through September 30, 2025.
This month, we would like to feature the Super Weekend/Second Saturday Summer Concert Series
Committee.
Several years ago, the Cameron County Project identified “Super Weekend” as a community event
residents identified as nostalgic, iconic and they desired to bring it back. Five years ago, we held the first
Super Saturday event. The third year it turned into a Super Weekend event. Sadly after four years, we
regret to announce that we will not be having the Super Weekend event this year. There are many
different circumstances behind this decision.
The committee decided they would like to see the “Second Saturday Summer Concert Series” grow this
year. Second Saturdays will be from June through September.
Each Second Saturday will start out with
the Farmers Market 9 to noon.
June and July, there will be food and beverage trucks starting at 5 PM
and a band from 6 to 9 PM.
A local youth booster club will help with setup and clean up at these two
events and have a fund raiser that day.
We plan to make August's Second Saturday a full day in
Emporium.
Farmers Market & Project Pedal Bike Race starting out the morning,
Smoker Logging Blow-
ups, food truck, music and other activities in the afternoon, then moving to Broad Street for the Corn
Hole Tournament, Food Truck and Band at 5 PM.
September's Second Saturday will be a full day in
Driftwood.
Noon to 6 PM – music, food, ice cream and beverage trucks,
Smokers blow-ups and other
kid activities, KECA will have information on the Elk Rut. More information on the events will come out
as we get closer to the days.
These events would not be possible without the generosity of local individuals, businesses, and
organizations. They provide funds, sponsorships and grants to cover the costs of the events. These
donations are put into a special fund account to be used for these activities as approved by the Cameron
County Community Chest board of directors.
If you would like to donate to the Special Entertainment fund to keep these activities/events going, you
can make a check payable to Cameron County Community Chest and designate the “Special
Entertainment Fund” in the Memo.
General fund contributions are always appreciated and help support the Recreation Board, Community
Nurses, Red Cross, Friends of the Library, the Package Team, the Garden Club, and Special Community
Requests.
No donation/memorial is too small. Please send your tax-deductible contribution to: Cameron County
Community Chest, PO Box 134, Emporium, PA 15834, Attn: Judd Schager.
