Dream Comes True for CC Resident Mason Shaffer
Mason has recently accepted an internship position working for Maria Menounos (of E! News, the Today Show, Entertainment Tonight and One Tree Hill) and two of her major projects! She will be interning at AfterBuzz TV and Better Together with Maria Menounos starting next week through her final semester at Penn State.
AfterBuzz TV is a pop culture commentary platform focusing on music, movies, television and celebrity culture through articles and social media content. Better Together is Maria’s personal podcast focusing on mental health and self-improvement. for both projects, Mason will be dissecting & revising press releases, researching special guest stars, writing articles and creating & posting content across all social platforms.
Mason has been a fan of Maria’s since she was 11 years old - there was a time when she could not be pried away from the television at 7 pm on any given weeknight, because Maria was hosting E! News and she simply couldn’t miss it. This opportunity is a dream come true for Mason.
Mason majors in public relations (through Penn State’s School of Communications) and her coursework focuses on writing, social media content and marketing tactics! She also has a certification in event planning through the schools of hospitality management and recreation, parks and tourism management.
Mason is the daughter of daughter of Ken & Donna Shaffer of Cameron County.
