Charles D. Akins, 96, of 1429 Sizer Run Rd., Emporium, PA
died at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Sunday morning (March 24, 2019). He was born March 17, 1923 in Clymer, PA a son of the late John and Mary Keller Akins.
He married the late Dorothy Bennett.
Mr. Akins worked as a local plumber for many years and later with Motor Coil for several years. He also enjoyed being a local salesman for Cowan Monuments. He was a longtime member of Deeper Waters Ministries in Emporium.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Donna Akins, Emporium; Stella Bish, Mount Pleasant, PA; one son, Lyle Akins, Emporium along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Akins; four brothers, William, George, Albert and Clifford Akins; three sisters, Elsie Gibbs, Violet Card and Pearl Fulmer.
The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium, PA on Friday (March 29, 2019) from 3:00 - 4:00 PM followed by the service at 4:00 PM with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor, Deeper Waters Ministries, officiating.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
