William L. "Triple P" Summerson Sr., 81, 214 Columbus St., St. Marys, died Friday at the home of his son, William Summerson Jr., Cuneo Road, Kersey.

Born Oct. 10, 1929, in Sterling Run, he was a son of the late Fred Leroy and Mary Devling Summerson. He was married to Jo Ann Means July 5, 1954, in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church. She preceded him in death July 29, 1997.

He retired from the Bureau of Reclamation and had also been employed at the Mallery Lumber Company in Emporium and at Keystone Carbon Company.

He attended Sterling Run Schools and lived in St. Marys since 1992.

He was a veteran, having served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6221 in Emporium. He enjoyed traveling, his trips to Salamanca, and being with his family and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth (Lisa) Wehler of DuBois, two sons, William L. (Melissa) Summerson Jr. of Kersey, David M. (Lynn) Summerson of Emporium; a sister, Bibanna Park of Emporium; three brothers: Donald Summerson, of Dover, Robert "Jerry" (Cindy) Summerson of Cameron, Steve (Marge) Summerson of Emporium; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SUMMERSON: William L. "Triple P" Sr., St. Marys, died June 17, 2011. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home in St. Marys. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Loren Conklin officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen's Burial Detail. Burial will be in St. Marys Protestant Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Elk Unit, P.O. Box 403, St. Marys, PA or to the Community Nurses, Inc., 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys, PA 15857.
