Cameron County Little League 
 Things are starting to heat up for Baseball/Softball season!
 Below are a list of upcoming events.
*March 12th - Last day of in-person & online sign ups. Your child must be signed up by these dates to secure a matching team jersey. If you cannot sign them up by this date, please reach out to Jenn Dixon at 814-512-1267. 
*March 22nd - High School Baseball/Softball Player Clean-up! 
*March 26th - Opening Day for High School Softball & Baseball, be sure to come out and support your CCHS teams! 
*April 12th - All Fields Clean-up and Field prepping for season. (Anyone wanting to volunteer is greatly appreciated) 
*April-June - Season play for Little Cameron County Little League 
*June 10th - 14th - Carnival.
 *June 21st - Dick Harrier Memorial Baseball Game.
 *August 2nd - Alle Cat Reunion Game.
 Concession stand will be up and running for High School Games!
 Be sure to come and check out some new added items.

Rotary News - Guest Speaker Susan Hoy

Rotary Club of Emporium 
 Rotarian John Kautz introduced Susan Hoy of the Cameron County Historical and Genealogy Center, as this week's guest speaker. Susan's topic of choice pertained to the history of the Cameron County Schools. Over 200 years, in 1888, there were approximately 1,000 students enrolled in 43 schools throughout the county. Many of the schools were held in homes or small cabin type structures. The Historical and Genealogy Center is available to the public on Tuesdays between 10 am to noon and by appointment.

North Central Public Survey

 

Attention Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter residents and stakeholders‼️ 
North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission is seeking valuable input from residents and stakeholders to help shape the upcoming update to their Public Participation Plan. 
This initiative aims to enhance community engagement across several key areas, including transportation, economic development, community development, and Information Technology efforts. 
To gather this input, they have launched a brief public survey designed to collect feedback on how North Central can improve its six-county region outreach and communication strategies. 
Your feedback will be instrumental in ensuring their planning efforts align with the needs and priorities of the communities they represent.
 The survey is quick and easy to complete, taking approximately 5 minutes, and will remain open until March 28, 2025.

Eugene Leslie Towner (Les)

Eugene Leslie Towner (Les), 67, adventurer, gas geezer, miner, hunter, mentor, brother, uncle and one heck of a man passed on February 18, 2025 during his travels through Guyana, South America. 
He resided in Hamilton, MT. He was born on February 2, 1958 in Avon, Park FL to Eugene LaRue Towner and Janet Lorraine Towner. Grandparents were Earl and Veryl Towner of Emporium. 
Les was preceded in death by his parents. 
He is survived by his older brother Rob (Christi) Towner, younger brother Terry (Susan) Towner, sister Laura Towner, nieces Jennefer, Liza, KaSandra (Brian) great-niece Cate Lynn (Todd), and great-nephews Dominic and Aidan, as well as many other extended family members and close friends. 
Family members have gathered together to celebrate and memorialize our Les.
A public celebration will be held in Hamilton in the warmer months of 2025, exact date and location to be determined.
