Kimberly K. Reed


Kimberly “Kim" Reed, 64, of East Fourth Street, Emporium, died Monday, December 6, 2021, in her home.
 Kimberly Reed was a native of Emporium, born August 19, 1957, the daughter of Al and Glady Beers Bauer. She was a 1976 graduate of Cameron County High School and a 1978 graduate of Orra Jean Beauty Academy in Erie PA. 
 On August 6, 1977 in Emporium she married Donald “Stretch” Reed who survives. 

 In the late 70's she lived in Hawaii for two years and then returned to Emporium where she made her home, ran her beauty shop, and made Emporium a better place to live for everyone who knew her. 

 She was self-employed, owning and operating Kim Reed's Beauty Salon for 40 plus years. 

 Kim was a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church of Emporium where she was an active member of the choir and served as a Deacon for several years. She was also a member of the community choir, and in the late 90's was active in the CCHS Quarterback Club, Prom Coordinator and countless other school activities. Along with Pete Fragale and others, she was one of the originators of the 1st Annual Christmas Fund Raiser, supporting local families in need. Kim enjoyed shopping, cooking, creating crafts, peaceful Jeep rides through the woods, and celebrating the joy of Christmas beginning as early as October. 

 Surviving relatives include: her husband, Don “Stretch” Reed of Emporium; one son, Justin (Viki) Reed of Lees Summit, Missouri; one brother, Chuck (Linda) Bauer and one sister, Vicki (Chuck) Pollock, all of Olean, NY; and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law; cousins, nieces and nephews, and lifelong special friends, the Hammersleys. 

 She was predeceased by both parents, and in-laws, Dolores Kitchen, Jerry Reed, Marie Young, Bruce Reed, Patty Reed, and Judy Shrubb. 

 The family will receive friends in the First Presbyterian Church, Emporium, on Saturday, December 11 from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at which time Funeral & Committal services will follow 

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 205 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834; Cameron County SPCA, 678 South Mountain Road, Emporium, PA 15834 or Penn Highlands Community Nurses (Hospice Care) 757 Johnsonburg Road, Suite 200, St. Marys PA 15857. 

 Arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium. 


 Our community will miss this beautiful lady with the smile that lit up everything around her.
