Andrew W. Kalafut, 72, formerly of Emporium, passed away peacefully on Friday (Oct. 19, 2012) at his residence in Bullhead City, Arizona after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Philadelphia. He was the son of the late Andrew A. Kalafut, Sara J. (Summerson) Kephart and stepfather, Howard W. Kephart. On July 18, 1959, in Emporium, he married Gladys Marie (Jenkins) Kalafut, who survives.

He then became the Head of Maintenance Operations for De Anza Land & Leisure in Ontario, California, from which he retired in 2001.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips, NASCAR, buying and selling his collectibles on EBay, working on his home, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others, gift of gab, and his love of family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife, is his daughter, Deborah Lee Lumley of Harrisville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roseann Reynolds, and his beloved daughter, Brenda Ann Kalafut.

At his request, there was no visitation. A memorial service was held at his home on Friday (Oct. 26, 2012) with Father Leonard officiating.
