State police in Ridgeway, Elk County, are investigating scores of burglaries at hunting camps in Northcentral Pennsylvania.
Thirty-nine break-ins have been reported at seasonal camps located about 100 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
The Associated Press reported that police believe the same person or persons might be behind all of the burglaries.
Sixteen hunting camps were initially broken into in isolated areas of Elk and Cameron counties in a spree that began Dec. 22.
Nearly 20 burglaries occurred Jan. 6-7. In camp break-ins in Jones, Fox and Highland townships, stolen property has included sporting arms, other hunting equipment and miscellaneous items.
No injuries related to the break-ins have been reported.
No one had been charged with the burglaries as of Friday
