Walter S. Spehalski

Walter S. Spehalski, 82, of 1783 Old West Creek Rd, Emporium, PA died at Hamot Medical Center, Erie on Thursday evening (December 9, 2010)

He was born October 12, 1928 in DuBois a son of the late Stanley and Katherine Matula Spehalski.
On April 25, 1953 at St. Michael Church in DuBois he married Valerie Wojtaszek Spehalski, who Survives.

Mr. Spehalski graduated from DuBois High School and from Penn State University where he received a BSME degree. He retired from North American Phillips, after many years, where he was the Plant Manager of the Equipment Development Plant. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church where he was the choir director for over 35 years. He had been a member of the Emporium Lions Club, and a member of the St. Marys Singing Dutchmen.

Surviving in addition to his wife Valerie Spehalski are three sons, Walter Spehalski and his wife Cecilia of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Robert Spehalski and his wife Julia of Emmaus, PA.,and Thomas Spehalski and his wife Bonnie of Emporium, PA.  Ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Regina, Steven, Daniel, Andrew, Stacey Kayela, Eric, Keith, and Elyse Spehalski.   Two sisters, Helen Kopeck and Virginia, Mrs. Willliam Good, both who reside in DuBois Pa. and one brother, Richard Spehalski and his wife Nancy of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Mr. Spehalski was preceded in death by parents: Stanley and Katherine Matula Spehalski, a brother Raymon Spehalski during WW II and nephew Mike Kopeck.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium on Tuesday (December 14, 2010) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant. A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.

Visitation with a Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
