Douglas P. Price

Douglas P. Price, 46, of 181 Irishtown Road, Kersey, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.

He was born on May 17, 1975, in Ridgway, a son of Thomas and Jean Bauman Price, who survive of St. Marys.

On August 21, 1999 in St. Boniface, he married Jill Zelinsk Price, who survives of Kersey. For more than 22 years, they shared lots of love, laughter, and happiness.

Doug was a 1993 graduate of St. Marys Area High School and member of First United Methodist Church. He worked for many years at GKN in Kersey.

With a love of baseball that rivaled no other, Doug shared his passion with many kids over the years through coaching Legion baseball, travel teams, and Little League. With a strong desire to see them succeed, he loved the kids dearly and cherished the friendships he made with them over his years of coaching. Doug was recently named the Head Coach for the upcoming high school baseball season and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

A dedicated and loving son, brother, husband and father, Doug could often be found spending time with his family, always enjoying family gatherings and laughing with his family and friends. He adored his sons, and there was nothing more important to him than being there for them. He loved spending time in the woods, especially hunting and fishing.

Fun-loving and hard-working, Doug also enjoyed making sausage and other meats for his family and friends. In addition to deer processing, he also did tree-trimming and landscaping, always working hard to provide for his family. He was also fond of the family pets, Lucy and Nacho. He will be lovingly remembered for his work ethic, having fun with his family and friends, and for being a friend to all.

In addition to his wife, Jill Zelinski Price and his parents, Thomas and Jean Price, he is survived by two sons; Shane Price and Carter Price. He is also survived by a sister; Leah (Brian) Reiter, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by his in-laws; Tom and Kay Zelinski.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and by uncles; John Bauman, Joe Mertel, and Ken Stebick.

Funeral Services for Douglas P. Price will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 140 N. St. Marys Street, St. Marys, Pa 15857 with Rev. J. Timothy Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
