Earl L. Dill

Earl L. Dill, 88, of 345 East Third St., Emporium, PA died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Friday (November 24, 2017) morning. He was born March 22, 1929 in Sterling Run, PA a son of the late George L. and Alice Strawbridge Dill. Earl graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1946. He worked in the pipeline business making roads for gas wells. He served, as a sergeant with the US Army and after his time in the service he worked as a construction superintendent in many parts of the country. Earl retired in 1978 and returned to Cameron County. He was a member of the Sinnemahoning United Methodist Church.

 Earl is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, George, Bertram Dill and Paul in infancy; three sisters, Florence Smith, Rita Wheeler and Norma Hickoff.

A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 306 S Spruce St, Emporium, PA on Monday (November 27, 2017) at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ken Bailey of the Sinnemahoning First United Methodist Church and Pastor Joseph Short of the First United Methodist Church, Emporium officiating. A Military Service provided by the Cameron County Memorial Detail will follow. Visitation will be at the Church one hour prior to the Service.

Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cameron County Memorial Detail, c/o VFW, 427 E. 3rd St., Emporium, PA 15834
