Douglas K. Stephens



Douglas K. Stephens, age 84, of Driftwood, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. Born February 1, 1931 in Canisteo, NY, he was the son of Jesse and Olive Pierce Stephens.

Mr. Stephens was a longtime resident of Varysburg, NY and in 1986 retired from Bethlehem Steel where he was employed for over 25 years as an inspector. Twenty years ago he relocated to Driftwood, PA and was a member of the Sinnemahoning Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & snowmobiling and through the years was always especially fond of his dogs. He also loved music & had a large & varied music collection.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Fleming of Arcade, NY; 
one son, Richard (Linda) Stephens of Lancaster, NY; 
one grandson, Norman Barvian of Driftwood;
 four great grandchildren; 
one sister, Judy (Jim) Fletcher of Reidville, South Carolina;
 and several nieces and nephews. 

Mr. Stephens was predeceased by: one son, Edward Stephens; 
three brothers, Irving Stephens, Gordon Stephens, and Leo Stephens; 
and one sister, Dolores Stephens.

Interment with family in attendance will be made in October in Huntley Cemetery, Gibson Township. The date & time will be published when known.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.
