TAKE A STROLL OF EMPORIUM'S PAST
Cameron County Historical Society's stroll down memory
lane to celebrate Emporium Borough's 150th birthday is Saturday August 30, 2014
at 11 AM. The stroll ends at Charlie's
Friendly Tavern with a celebration lunch.
The tour will begin at the Emporium Borough Office at
11am. It will stop at more than 30 sites in Emporium, covering approximately
1.5 miles. Most of the sites reviewed were hotels dating as far back as
1848. The tour includes enlarged
historical photos at each site and Susan Hoy will narrate the event.
Participants will have their choice of sandwich and drink
following the Historical Walk of Emporium sponsored by the Emporium Borough and
hosted by the Cameron County Historical Society. The cost is $15.00 per person.
