County Police Reports


Unknown person(s) gained access to an Emporium woman's bank account debit card account numbers and made two charges on her account utilizing the account numbers.
Corporal Ireland of the Emporiuim PSP said the Access Device Fraud happened on March 11th at 8:29 and 8:59 PM. The victim of the fraud is Carol A. Hudson of Rt. 46, Emporium, PA. The investigation is continuing.

An Emporium woman attempted to avoid a deer that entered the roadway at 8:30 AM Wednesday on Route 120 in Shippen Township and struck the embankment instead.
Virginia A. Gribble, 53, of Emporium, PA, was not hurt in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt.
Trooper Gary Barnes said the crash occurred as Gribble was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer westbound on Route 120.  She lost control of the vehicle trying to avoid a deer that entered the roadway. Her vehicle then traveled onto the north berm where the right side impacted a dirt embankment located along the north berm.

An Emporium man was cited for Careless Driving after he fell asleep and his 2001 Subaru Outback struck a street sign and a fire hydrant in Emporium Boro at 1:09 PM last Sunday.
Andrew J. Beck, 22, of Emporium, PA, was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt.
Trooper Dennis Miller said the crash occurred as Beck was traveling East on 3rd Street, fell asleep while driving and struck the road sign at the intersection with Locust Street. His vehicle then struck the fire hydrant that was located at the intersection before it came to rest.

An Emporium woman was transported to Elk Regional Hospital by Emporium Ambulance for treatment of injuries suffered when her 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee went off slippery Route 120 and overturned Saturday at about 11:15 AM.
Joyce Lyon, 57, of East Allegany Avenue, Emporium, PA, was moderately injured in the crash according to State Police. She was wearing a seat belt.
Trooper Christopher D. Bock, who investigated, said the crash occurred as Lyon was traveling west on Route 120, about 6/10 mile west of Old West Creek Road (West Entrance) in Shippen Township. She lost control of her vehicle, exited the roadway to the South and overturned. She was transported from the scene for treatment of unknown injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
The vehicle was moderately damaged.
Emporium EMS, Emporium Fire Department, PennDOT and Ramseys Towing assisted at the scene.
