Franklin E. Crissy III

Franklin E. Crissy, III, 89, of Greenfield Assisted Living, Strasburg, Virginia formerly of Emporium, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday morning at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.
He was born September 11, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA a son of the late Franklin E., II and Myrtle Mertz Crissy.
In St. James Catholic Church in Driftwood he married the late Teresa "Tess" Kennedy Crissy.

Mr. Crissy was a WW II veteran having served as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corps 614th squadron, 401st bomb group from 1942-1945. He graduated from Penn State University where he received a masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Frank was a lifelong Nittany Lions fan. He met his beloved wife Tess of almost 50 years while attending Penn State. Mr. Crissy was member of Theta Chi fraternity at PSU, a member of the VFW, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, as well as being a licensed profession engineer. He retired from Sylvania/ Philips Electronics where he had worked as an engineer for many years. He was a longtime member of St. Marks Catholic Church, a wonderful father and family man. Frank loved music, appreciated nature, enjoyed hiking and keeping company with his unusually talented parrot, Jake. He was an avid reader who kept on top of world affairs.
