James R. Burfield, Sr., 76, of 20419 Ccc Memorial Hwy., Cameron, PA, died at Elk Regional Health Center, St. Marys on Tuesday (March 9, 2010) afternoon. He was born Aug 29, 1933 in Birch, PA a son of the late Frank Herbert and Annabelle Teats Burfield.He married Jean Schreffler, who Survives.
Mr. Burfield retired from Racoh Products where he was a truck driver for the laast 14 years of his employment. Many years ago he worked in the Oil Fields. He was a member fo the First United Methodist Church and the Emporium Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jean Schreffler are sons James Burfield, Jr. and his wife Shannon, Joseph Burfield and his wife Cindy, Bardstown, KY, Jeffrey Burfield of Dover, PA. Daughters Carol Olay of Emporium, Lona, Mrs. David Klase of Duncannon, PA, Stacey Burfield of Corfu, NY. 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Two sisters, Anna Jane Wagner of Punxsutawney and Patricia, Mrs. Richard Bennett, Norfolk, VA. A brother, Thomas Ramsey and his wife Betty of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death byparents: Frank Herbert and Annabelle Teats Burfield, 3 Brothers: Herbert and Francis Burfield & Donald Ramsey
Funeral and Committal Services will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium on Thursday, (March 11, 2010) at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, followed by the Funeral & Committal Services at 2:00 PM.Burial will be in the Castle Garden Cemetery, Driftwood, PA
