Rotary News - District Governor, Herb Smith

Rotary Club of Emporium
During District Governor, Herb Smith’s visit to the Emporium Rotary Club this week, he spoke about this year’s Rotary Theme: Create Hope in the World. Herb is shown here with the Endless Mountains Methodist Church members who volunteer to cook the meals for our club each week.

Currently, there is more hope for one of Rotary’s biggest projects: the eradication of Polio worldwide. For over 35 years, Rotary has been working to eradicate polio globally. Their biggest challenge has been entering Afghanistan & Pakistan to administer the vaccine – the last 2 remaining countries with active Polio cases in the world. Recently, there is more hope than ever before as there is talk of these countries finally allowing Rotarians to enter and administer the Polio vaccine.

Thank you, Herb, for your passionate and inspiring speech during your visit!

Cat Shelter Tips

It's the 1st day of fall, and now is a good time to start thinking about outdoor shelter for outside cats.
It takes a while for cats to get used to anything new in their environment. So please don't wait until it's 10 degrees and there is a foot of snow on the ground. Get your shelters installed now.
Please spay or neuter your cats. This is the only way to reduce unwanted animals.
