We will meet *once a month* and discuss the month’s book- Skip months as you need to, whether you aren’t into the book or have a lot going on, but all are welcome.
If you missed our first get together, don’t worry, we’re doing it again- The book swap was so fun!
For book club, we will pick a book at the end of the previous month and get together toward the end of the following month- usually Sunday afternoons- to discuss and visit! (I’ve never been in a book club before, so I’m open to suggestions!) p.s. invite your friends!

Carol Lee Armagost
Carol Lee Armagost, age 68 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Born on January 4, 1954 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Ella V. (Milliron) Armagost.
Carol moved to DuBois in 2019 after living in Emporium, PA for 45 years.
She retired from GKN Sintered Metals in Emporium as a technician after 40 years of service.
Carol is survived by one brother William L. Armagost and his wife Deanne and one sister Nancy Jo Horak and her husband Edward both of DuBois, PA, two nieces; Tammy and Susan and three nephews; Rich, Alex and Zack.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10 – 11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801 and/or Gateway Humane Society, PO Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840.

Hey everyone, little late to the post here.
Louis had his follow up appointment for his collar bone. The bone is healing but not as much as he or the Dr. would like. It is still fractured, and he has to go back in another 3 weeks.
A lot of you may know already, Louis is opening a second location out of his garage at home.
We will only be doing work at the main location on Main Street by the tracks by appointment only.
We will have the same phone number and still be able to order any parts needed for your machines. We will also be transferring our inspection station to the new place so we can take care of your yearly inspections.
This was a tough decision to make but Louis and Emily’s son is growing up fast and Louis wants to have as much time with him that he can so he will be watching Jett during the day and taking care of tech work in the evenings.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding through the last two months while Louis has been recovering. We also can’t thank our customers enough for the support over the last 5 years to help build this business to what it is now. Louis is looking forward to the future and being able to supply the area with grade A service for all your small engine and power-sports machines.

John J. Austin
John J. Austin, 63, of Harrison St., Port Allegany, PA passed away unexpectedly Sunday (Dec. 25, 2022) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born July 1, 1959, in Olean, NY, he was a son of Robert E. and Mary Oliver Austin. On Jan. 14, 2012, in Port Allegany, he married Terrie M. Milne, who survives.
A lifetime resident of the area, John was a graduate of Otto-Eldred High School, class of 1979.
He was employed with Ardagh Group, Port Allegany, as a machine operator, retiring in 2021, after 30 years of service.
John attended the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany.
He enjoyed his time as a stock car driver, driving at the Bradford Speedway. He was an avid snowmobiler, and member of the West End Snowmobile Club. He also did welding for others and had a snow plowing business in the winter. He was a very social person and enjoyed talking to everyone. He will be missed by many.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Terrie, are two sons, John M. (Misty) Austin of Emporium, Henry A. Troupe of Port Allegany; two daughters, Samantha J. (Jeff) Fry of Austin, PA, and Hannah M. Troupe of Port Allegany; four granddaughters, two grandsons; and a great granddaughter; a brother, Art Buck of Bradford; three sisters, Deb (Garry) Sherwood of Eldred, Marie (Russ Safran) Ober of Bradford, and Tina (Paul) Freer of Smethport; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert E. Austin.
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Friday (Dec. 30, 2022) in the Birch Grove Mennonite Church, Port Allegany, where a memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. with Rev. Dale Detweiler, pastor, officiating.
Memorials can be made to the Bradford Speedway, or choice of the donor.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.

Raymond P. DeMatz
Raymond P. DeMatz, 92, of Meadow Rd., Emporium, PA formerly of Sykesville passed away at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Wednesday afternoon (December 21, 2022) following a brief illness. He was born November 22, 1930 in Sykesville, PA a son of the late Peter and Angeline Sandy DeMatz. He married Anne Geleskie DeMatz in St. Mark Catholic Church, Emporium, PA.
Ray graduated from the former Sykesville High School in the class of 1948. After graduation he served with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Sylvania, after 36 years, working as a tool maker with his last 16 years as tool room foreman. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Emporium where he served as an usher for many years. He was a life member of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW, and the Knights of Columbus. Ray enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening, wine making, and loved his family very much. He generously shared with many people the fruits of his labor.
In addition to his wife Anne he is survived by two sisters, Marie Cressley, Reynoldsville and Laura Towns, Sykesville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Zediak.
There will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (December 27, 2022) at 12:00 PM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor and Msgr. Charles A. Kaza, Concelebrants.
Burial will take place Wednesday in the Assumption Cemetery, Sykesville, PA.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834.
