First Fork Festival at Sinnemahoning State Park is This Saturday October 12!

First Fork Festival at Sinnemahoning State Park is This Saturday October 12!

This weekend marks the return of the annual First Fork Festival at Sinnemahoning State Park! First Fork Festival celebrates the history and culture of the First Fork Sinnemahoning Valley, highlighting local authors, artists, craft makers and artisans.  Surrounded by glorious fall color at Sinnemahoning State Park, this event draws over 1000 visitors each year and it all goes down on Saturday October 12th from 11:00 am-3:00 pm at the Wildlife Center grounds on Park Road.

Shop Local Food and Artisan Vendors

First Fork Festival will feature food from Red Horse Grill, Out of the Box Stellar Food, and Smitty’s Eat-n-Shack. Additionally, the Sinnemahoning Ladies Auxiliary will be serving up soups and our local scouts from Troop 524 will have funnel cakes and cider for sale. Finally, no fall festival is complete without God’s Country Kettle Corn & Son’s of Dunn Family Maple serving up snacks. We also have over 20 artisan craft venders offering a variety of goods including but not limited to fiber arts, jewelry, pottery, and ornaments. This is great opportunity to get some of your holiday shopping done early while supporting our local artisans!

Cash Only Shopping

Due to the park’s lack of cellphone service and wireless internet First Fork Festival is a cash only event. The park does not have an ATM on site, so make sure you bring cash to support all of our local food and artisan vendors.

Van Wagner Returns to the First Fork Festival Stage!

We are excited to welcome Van Wagner back to the stage for this year’s First Fork Festival! Van Wagner will be performing a program of songs and stories about Pennsylvania History and natural beauty. Van is a forester, a high school agriculture teacher, and an award-winning musician / song-writer. Additionally local authors, historians, and exhibitors will be on site to educate festival goers.

Educational Activities for the Whole Family

Children, adults, and families can participate in several interactive educational activities staffed by local historians, conservation districts, and PA DCNR Educators. Learn about archeology, blacksmithing, watersheds, and even play historic games such as horseshoes.

We hope to see you & your family at Sinnemahoning State Park on Saturday October 12th for this year’s First Fork Festival
