Fatal Crash Monday Afternoon

Road Closures for Weekend in the Wilds

Weekend in the Wilds in Cameron County is bursting at the seams.  That according to organizers who say the street vendors have doubled since 2012, and the three artist canopies are filled!  Because of the expansion several streets will be closed.

Starting Friday night at 6pm North and South Chestnut Street will be closed from Greenwood Alley to Third Street.  The street will re-open Saturday night at 7pm.  Cherry Street both north and south will also be closed during the same time period, and a ban on parking will be in place on Fourth Street from Broad to Walnut Street.  Free parking on side streets will be encouraged and in some business lots that will be clearly marked.
Visitors are asked to follow the signage entering Emporium regarding pedestrian traffic.  Many activities cater to children of all ages, and drivers are asked to be on the watch for families crossing Fourth Street
