Rose M. Moore


Rose M. Moore, 54, of 6742 Beechwood Road, Emporium, died at home Thursday (Oct. 11, 2018) surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in St. Marys on Aug. 11, 1964, a daughter of Phillip and the late Phyllis Wolfe Wingard.

 On Oct. 2, 1993, she married the love of her life, James W. Moore Jr., who survives. Rose was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School, class of 1982. She then attended beauty school in Raleigh, NC and later got her teaching certificate in cosmetology. Rose was a member of St. Mark Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a grade-school catechist. She owned a beauty shop in Emporium called Rose’s Cut ‘n Curl and volunteered for the Cameron County Ambulance Service as an EMT for several years. She loved bowling and camping. 

In addition to her husband of 25 years, Jim Moore Jr., and her father, Phillip Wingard, she is survived by two daughters, Melissa and Jamie Moore, both of Emporium; seven brothers, Stephen (Mary) Wingard, William (Tammy) Wingard, Larry (Jean) Wingard, George (Martha) Wingard, Joseph (Mary Jane) Wingard, all of St. Marys, Donald (Cynthia) Wingard of Marion Center, PA, and Edward (Julie) Wingard of Ohio; two sisters, Mary Ann (Dennis) Bush and Marguerite (Jason) Hanes, both of St, Marys; in-laws James and Dorothy Moore Sr.; many nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and -nephews; and four Godchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

 In addition to her mother, Phyllis Wingard, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Earl and Alma Wingard; maternal grandparents, Henry and Marguerite Wolfe; 
and great-niece Thea Wingard. 

There will be No Visitation.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Saturday (October 20, 2018) at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.

 Burial will be in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, St. Marys, PA. Memorial
