Environmental Education Programs for the weekend of September 16 th
Program Title: Monarch Mania
Date: Saturday, September 16 th
Time: 2:00 – 3:30 PM
Location: Environmental Learning Center
Description: Did you know that monarchs can travel up to 2,500 miles during their
migration route? Have you seen any monarchs around recently? Come join the
park educator look for these milkweed butterflies throughout the park and learn
about their great migration! Short talk on monarchs, followed by exploring the
park – wear sturdy shoes and nets will be provided.

Program Title: Bears & Bees
Date: Saturday, September 16 th
Time: 7:00 – 8:30 PM
Location: Campground Amphitheater
Description: September is National Honey Month! Join the park educator for a
discussion about the relationship honeybees and black bears have to each other.
Short talk followed by a bee craft, bear movie, and a sweet treat for everyone –
feel free to bring snacks and a blanket!

Additional Information:
In case of thunder, lightning, or extreme weather conditions programs may be moved or
cancelled.

are available for educational programs.
