Richard D. “Rick” Losey, Jr., 61, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Austin, PA passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, February 12, 2023, after a long illness.
Born on Saturday, June 17, 1961 in Port Allegany, he was a son of Richard D. Sr. and Mary Anne McElwee Losey.
Rick was a graduate of Austin Area High School, Class of 1979. He was a self-employed logger, an occupation he truly loved.
He loved being in the woods. Rick was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a voracious reader.
Surviving are his son, Craig J. Losey of DuBois; two grandsons, Evan Losey and Noah Losey; a sister, Gayle (Les) Richner of Port Allegany; a brother, Gary L. (Gina) Losey of St. Leonard, Maryland; a nephew; a niece; and two grandnephews.
Rick was predeceased by his parents.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.

Rick’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
