One Dog at a Time
PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS
Did you know...
If you lose your dog in areas where there are NOWHERE for authorities to take them if found...No shelters...No rescues...
Your dog could end up hours away from Home...Possibly in another county.
EXAMPLE: If a dog is lost on Friday night...someone keeps the dog until Monday, calls the Dog Warden and they pick them up on Tuesday in Mifflin County... the Dog Warden has to find somewhere for it. The closest shelter has approximately 8 kennels in Huntingdon PA...so most often times they are full. That means...YOUR DOG could end up in Clearfield, State College, Luzerne County, Harrisburg...anywhere that has space and will take the dog. NO shelter has to take a dog from the Dog Warden. It is a Courtesy. Open Door shelters take every animal that comes in the door. You have 48 hours under PA State Law to find your dog or the rescue or shelter that took that dog in, can vet and adopt the dog out, or euthanize.
PLEASE Microchip and License your dog.
Use every precaution so that your dog does not become a statistic.
