Winners Announced
Christmas Lights shining in Cameron County drew more than 200 voters for the Christmas Decorating Contest. Voters selected 830 Sizerville Road (Courtney and Luke Hostetlar), followed by 1007 Bucktail Highway (Danielle Mason) and 23 Thomas Ryan Road (Josh and Kaity Parslow). Voting took place between December 7-16 online and in person at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce office.
Three voters randomly chosen and each given cash. The Hygrade Inn sponsored the decorating contest. The David Karkoska Award given to 138 East Fifth Street (Sarah Nolan). David loved Christmas and his business partners at The Hygrade Inn wanted to honor him with a special award. Judges toured the county on Saturday picking the recipient.
“The contest continues to grow each year,” says chamber director Tina Solak. So much work went into decorating each home to be shared with children of all ages. This year STA provided a bus for touring the homes. The packed vehicle included school age children to senior citizens Many homes were greeted with oohs and ahs according to Solak.
