Donald J. Miller, 92, of 74 South Wood Street, Emporium, PA died at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA on Tuesday (November 15, 2016) morning.
He was born September 23, 1924 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Arthur and Mabel Minard Miller.
On December 10, 1945 in Winchester, VA he married the late Verba Lingenfelter Miller
Mr. Miller served with the US Army, Fifth Signal Company in the Fifth Infantry Division, during WWII. He retired from Cameron Manufacturing, as a tool & die maker, where he had worked for over 60 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Emporium Lodge #382, F.and A.M. where he was a 32 degree mason.
Survived by
One daughter, Kathy Torrey, Coudersport; Son, Donald L. "Beatrice" Miller, Front Royal, VA; Five Grandchildren and Six Great Grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Lois Bennett Rader, her children & grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mabel Minard Miller;
wife, Verba Lingenfelter Miller who died in 1998,
three brothers, Lionel "Nany" Minard and Cyril "Sonny" and Arthur "Jumbo" Miller.
Funeral Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 306 S Spruce St, Emporium, PA on Saturday (November 19, 2016) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, officiating followed by a Military Service to be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. 4th St., Emporium on Friday from 1-4 PM where a masonic service will take place at 3:30 PM.
Burial will be private in the Gilmore Cemetery, Austin, PA
