Job Opening - Emergency Management Coordinator

 

Emergency Management Coordinator

This professional and administrative position manages the assigned programs and projects in the operation and planning of the Emergency Management Services. Work involves planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating emergency management plans, procedures, and operations in a variety of programmatic disciplines, including preparedness, prevention, response, recovery, mitigation. Additionally, developing and conducting training, exercise programs, ensuring plans, procedures and operations meet requirements reviewed through the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA). Work is performed with considerable independent judgement and requires extensive coordination with local, state, and federal officials.

A Pennsylvania State Certification will be required after hire within 12 months if not already attained. Must be available on a 24-hour basis and carry a pager or cell phone to respond to emergencies. Provide support to Emergency Operation Center under prescribed support role during activation of Emergency Operation Center. Must pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: College education in emergency management, fire sciences, public administration or related field. Experience in project management, emergency management, and fire/rescue or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, valid driver’s license.

Due to the nature of this position applicants residing within one half hour commute will be given preference unless applicant is willing to relocate. This position reports directly to the Director of Emergency Services. The last day to apply for this position is Friday, November 8, 2024.
