Look Up Cameron County
Come join us for dark sky viewing on Friday July 21st starting at 8pm at the future Dark Sky Viewing Area in Cameron County!
We will be observing the night sky where the constellation Sagittarius the Archer is prominent.
This star group lies due south and at peak altitude around 11pm local daylight time. The brightest stars within the constellation form the shape of a teapot — a distinctive asterism once you’ve found it. The central regions of the Milky Way pass through Sagittarius.
The moon will be in a waxing crescent phase at 3 days old in the sign Virgo.
Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy sunset with the dark sky presentation to follow!
