On April 25th, Steve Vaneerden (right) was the guest speaker of Rotarian Steve Straub (left).
Steve Vaneerden presented some general information about the proposed Duke low flying Military Operations and some of the potential impact it could have in Cameron County. This proposal seeks to "Reduce the altitude limits from 7,999 feet MSL (Mean Sea Level) to 100 feet AGL (Above Ground Level)" and to "Authorize training opportunities approximately 170 days per year with expected activation of two hours per day, one hour at a time" among other updates. If you are interested in contacting the FAA or local representatives about this proposal, the deadline for comments is May 17th.
