Mary Wood

 

Mary Wood, 95, of Jericho Road, Sinnamahoning, PA passed away at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Monday, January 3, 2022 morning. She was born June 11, 1926 in Johnsonburg, PA a daughter of the late Bennie and Mary Nestlerode Wennin. She married Weldon Peters and after his passing she married Allen Wood,

Mrs. Wood's first husband was Weldon Peters. Mary attended First Fork School. In her younger years she worked at Sylvania, raised her family, then worked as the auditor for Grove Township for twelve years & later as a cook at the Willows Restaurant in Sinnamahoning. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Driftwood where she was active as a Sacristan and was also a member of the Sinnamahoning Sportsman's Association

Mary is survived by four daughters, Cheryl (Dariel) Hockenberry, Emporium, PA; Jean (Mike) Graham, Port Allegany, PA; Kathy (John) Fabin, Driftwood, PA; Tina (James) Deetscreek, Sinnamahoning, PA; two step-daughters, Shireen Sipe, Sinnamahoning, PA; Michele (Darrell) Viola, New Cumberland, PA; step-son, Dale (Bonnie) Wood, Sinnamahoning, PA; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Kowalski, Conyngham, PA; brother, Richard Wennin, DuBois, PA.

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Peters, great grandson, Aiden Chilcote, sister, Margie Housler and two brothers, Ben and Paul Wennin.

Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Thursday (January 6 2022) at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul S. Siebert, Pastor, as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the Gilmore Cemetery, Austin, PA

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 235 E. 4th Street, Emporium, PA 15834 or to American Cancer Society, Cameron Unit, P.O. Box 62, 135 W. Fourth St., Emporium, PA 15834
