Cameron County Chamber Supports Homecoming
2020 Homecoming will look different this year due to Covid-19 restrictions imposed by PA Departments of Health and
Education. The date has been moved to October 16.
The court has been selected, but a dance will not be held. The halftime
ceremony will take place with limited seating. Earlier this month a parade was in question.
A group of parents asked the chamber if it would support a parade, since the school district had not organized the event. The
parents agreed to invite participants, arrange transportation for the candidates and their escorts. The chamber has submitted
the request to PennDot for use of Routes 120 and 46. Because of the late request approval is not guaranteed. An alternate
route has been selected using Second to Broad Street. The final decision on the route will be made by Thursday October 15.
No matter which route the parade will begin at 5pm.
“This is an opportunity for the Cameron County community to come through for the students who continue to see events and
activities altered due to state regulations,” says chamber director Tina Solak. “I hope numerous groups agree to march or
ride in the event.” If a group or organization wishes to participate contact the chamber office at 814-486-4314 for details.
