Last night, May 18, 2020 at the Gibson Township Meeting the vote to open the roads
to\ atv/utv's was 2-1.

There was some changes the roads will not be open to snowmobiles only ATV's and UTV's.
The following roads will be open:
Huston Hill, Bennetts Creek Road, Mason Hill, Sheddy Road, Grove Street, Flaugh's Road, Water Gauge Road, hoover Road, Karthus Mountain Road, Mix Run Road and Smithfield Road
The effective date on the ordinance states shall become effective 5 days after its adoption, I am not sure if the signs will be up by then or not
Atv/Utv update. Yes the ordinance was passed but it will not be legal to ride on those roads until the signs are placed. I will keep you updated as when and what roads have had the signs posted (it could take a couple weeks to get them all done). As far as speed limits on the roads it would be the same as an vehicle and please remember to respect our wildlife, private property and don’t litter. Let’s prove that this wasn’t a mistake to open the roads. Once the roads are posted enjoy and be safe. Brandie Sherry, Gibson Township Secretary

Gibson Township is in southern Cameron County and is bordered by Lumber Township to the north, Grove Township to the east, Clearfield County to the south and Elk County to the west. The township surrounds the borough of Driftwood but is separate from it.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 94.6 square miles (244.9 km2), of which 93.9 square miles (243.3 km2) is land and 0.62 square miles (1.6 km2), or 0.67%, is water.[3] The Driftwood Branch and Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek flow through the township, joining at Driftwood to form Sinnemahoning Creek, which continues east across the township on its way towards the West Branch Susquehanna River.
