Cameron County Community Chest 2019 Fund Drive June Update
As of June 17th, we have collected $22,330 toward our $19,000 goal. Thanks to all who have contributed. We will keep the 2019 Fund Drive open until September 30, 2019.
This month’s featured organization will be the Friends of the Library.
We would like to welcome the new Librarian, Yelena Kisler, who began her duties on June 1st.
The Friends of the Library helps to maintain the many important services of the Barbara Moscato Brown Public Library.
To generate funds, they have an annual Membership Drive in the spring; Used Book Sale during the summer; and the ‘Donate and Say Merry Christmas’ project in November and December.
The funds generated help the library to:
Continue free services such as the public computer stations offering free internet service
Provide the latest materials for reading, listening, and viewing
Present public programs in conjunction with the Cameron County Arts
Support the Emporium Garden Club which decorates the library throughout the year and also maintains the exterior plantings
Add needed shelving and other furnishings
Maintain the library building including exterior, interior, and the multi-purpose room which is used by many community organizations.
Provide children’s programs, including Story Hour and Summer Reading Program
Lego Club for kids
The library has eBooks available. For more information, stop at the circulation desk.
Watch for new library events.
No donation/memorial is too small. Please send your tax-deductible contribution to: Cameron County Community Chest, PO Box 134, Emporium, PA. 15834, Attn: Judd Schager or go to our Face Book page where there is a PayPal button.
Help support the Recreation Board, Community Nurses, Red Cross, Friends of the Library, the Package Team, the Garden Club, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Sylvan Heritage, 4H, SPCA and special community requests.
