Kelly Benson, Plant Manager of Teutech Industries, was the guest speaker at the Rotary luncheon meeting November 27th. Also pictured is Rotarian, David Greene.
Teutech was founded in 1979 by Canadian, Tony Steer. By the mid-1980’s the Canadian company had grown to 50 employees and expanded to two plants manufacturing one-third automotive, one-third commercial and one-third U. S. Government components, employing 80 people. In 2008, Teutech acquired a 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility here in Emporium located at 227 Barton Street, formerly GKN Plant #3 The facility now employees 36 people and operates 3 shifts. Teutech is dedicated to machining 85% automotive and 15% non-automotive products. In March of 2017, Teutech automotive was acquired by The Hi-Tech Gears Ltd., an automotive company based in India providing global OEMS and Tier 1 customers Automotive Powertrain Solutions.
