Grace E. Williams, 88, of Sizerville Rd., Emporium, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, in UPMC Altoona.
Born February 23, 1930 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of John and Alma Yonkie Frederick. On July 15, 1950 in Ridgway, she married Millard Williams, Jr. who passed away January 5, 2011.
Through the years, before retiring in 1984, Grace was employed by several Emporium businesses including Sylvania, Cameron Manufacturing, NTCAC Green Thumb Program and the Grove House.
She attended the Gardeau Community Church, served on the Portage Township election board, was a member of the Emporium VFW Auxiliary, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed crocheting and the company of her family.
She is survived by: four daughters, Diane M. Williams and Brenda K. Williams both of Emporium, Carol A. (Gene) Lentz of Keating Summit, and Sylvia J. Barber of Truman; two sisters, Katherine Kline of Kersey and Marjorie (Jack) Rhines in Florida; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, David M. Williams in 2012, two brothers and six sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Gardeau Community Church with the Rev. Emilia Burdick, the Methodist minister currently serving the First Presbyterian Church in Emporium, officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive friends at the Cameron County fairgrounds
in Emporium.
Burial will be in Portage Cemetery, Portage Township.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium.
