Elizabeth Sarah "Liz" Overly

 

Elizabeth Sarah "Liz" Overly, 85, of 301 E. Third Street, Emporium, PA formerly of Stahlstown, PA died at her residence on Monday (March 19, 2018) night following a lengthy illness. She was born July 14, 1932 in Latrobe, PA a daughter of the late William G and Sarah Corley Cramer On October 11, 1952 in Maryland she married the late George R. Overly. Mrs. Overly graduated from Ligoneer High School in the class of 1950 and then from Nursing School in Somerset, PA as a LPN, in 1978. She worked at Laurel Highlands Nursing Home, in Donegal, eventually becoming head nurse. She later opened her own personal care home in Somerset in 1983 and ran that until 1993. She enjoyed family, church, parades, the fall season, traveling, dancing and decorating for all the holidays.

Survived by son, Randy Overly, Sinnemahoning; daughter, Cathy (Dimas) Robles, St. Marys; daughter, Betty Overly, Marienville, PA; daughter, Bertha (David) Gordon, Needmore, PA; daughter, Dolores "Lori" Afionis, Emporium; twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, one great great grandson; two Brothers, Charles Kunkle and John Kunkle and a sister, Mary E. Mock all of Stahlstown, PA.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Overly who died July 10, 2013, two sons, Donald and George "Rick" Overly.

 There will be No Visitation.

 Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Friday (March 23, 2018) at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Eastman, Pastor, Deeper Waters Ministries, officiating.

 

Burial will be in the Porch Cemetery, Acme, PA
