John "Jammy" Micklich, 84, of 619 Rich Valley Rd., Emporium, PA died in Emporium, PA Friday afternoon (November 10, 2017). He was born August 1, 1933 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Albert and Marie Malizia Micklich Cygan. On April 8, 2000 in Emporium, PA he married Marian VanHorn Gearhart Micklich, who survives.
Jammy graduated from Emporium High School in the class of 1951. He served with the US Army’s 708 Ordinance Division from 1956-1957. Jammy worked for over 38 years at Sylvania and retired from Keystone Automatic where he worked for several years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Bucktail Rod & Gun Club. For several years, Jammy taught hunter safety courses in Emporium.
He is survived by his wife Marian Micklich; daughter, Michele (Mike) Reed, Emporium; two sons, Albie (Gregory Leet) Micklich, DMA, Phoenix, AZ; Ryan (Randi) Micklich, Eldred, PA; step-son, Scott (Mary Ellen) Gearhart, Eldersburg, MD; step-daughter, Kim (Mike) Burlingame, Dayton, OH; step-son, Chris (Jeanne) Gearhart, South Windsor, CT; twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Albert and Marie Malizia Micklich Cygan and his step father, John Cygan.
Funeral Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, S. Spruce St, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (November 14, 2017) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph Short, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, officiating.
A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Visitation with Video Tribute will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Monday from 3-6 PM. Burial will be in the St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium, PA.
