Thomas L Rossman Sr., 71 of Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys PA, passed away following a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 17, 2016 surrounded by family. Thomas was born September 7, 1945 in Coudersport PA, a son of the late Hugh and Violet Willoughby Rossman. He was married to the late Marion Forness.
Thomas retired from Motor Coils Manufacturing after 20+ years of service. He was a 20 year member of the Emporium Fire Department and was also self employed for many years in the Novelty business, initially traveling on the weekends with his family to various flea markets and carnivals. He became semi-retired and passed the business on to his son Tony. He continued to travel with him to fairs and festivals. Thomas loved to travel, at one point riding over the road, trucking with his son Tom seeing the other parts of the US that he never traveled too. He loved spending his winter’s in Florida scoping out new merchandise for the upcoming year and of course the yearly trip to Las Vegas for the Expo.
Anyone who knew Thomas understood his love of “recycling”; he never wasted anything, he felt that everything could be reused; even the nursing home’s worked with him and allowed him to continue this life long tradition, to keep him happy. He was a 20 year member of the Emporium Fire Department a member of the St. Marys Elks and the Moose.
Thomas is survived by two sons, Thomas (Terri) Rossman Jr. of Rochester PA and Tony (Resty) Rossman of Emporium PA. He is survived by 5 grandchildren: Leeanna (Dustin) Rossman of Clermont, Florida, Kaydee Rossman of DuBois PA, Keisha Dornish of Honolulu Hawaii, Brendan Dornish of St. Marys PA and Anthony Dornish of Johnsonburg PA, and his great grandchildren Edward and Bella Kramer of Clermont Florida, who were the loves of his life and one brother, Hubert (Debbie) Rossman of Brownsville Texas. He is also survived by his step-children Tammy (Rick) Griffith, and Roy (Sharon) Elliott Jr. both of Emporium PA, David Elliott of Hampton, Virginia; or some would say they are his niece and nephew’s as he was also married to their aunt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Marion Forness Rossman, a brother Dale Rossman, and two sisters, Wanita Paige and Patricia Bennett.
