Beer Lovers Dinner Octoberfest Style
Octoberfest comes to Cameron County via a Straub Beer Lovers Dinner. Last year Cameron County Chamber of Commerce and Straub Beer hosted a summer event. This year fall flavors will be the focus.
The event will be held Saturday October 22 6:30pm at Aroma Café in Emporium.
A 5 course meal featuring different types of beer brewed at Straub Brewery in St Marys will be featured. AJ Alexander will explain why the specific beer chosen to accompany a particular food. “The event held in the summer last year was well received, but patrons did not want to sample the same beer again this year,” explains Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tina Johns Solak, “that is the reason for moving the event to an Octoberfest.”
Dinner will begin with bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos, apple brie and honey bruschetta paired with Straub Dunkle. The first course will feature smoked sausage asiago bisque with Straub 1872, followed by Candied walnut pear salad with maple vinaigrette and Straub Helles. The main course is a spinach mushroom onion gorgonzola cheese stuffed beef tenderloin served with roasted vegetables, garlic cream smashed red potatoes and Straub American Lager. Dessert features oatmeal brown sugar apple crisp with cinnamon vanilla ice cream and Straub Doppelboch.
The price for the dinner is $35 and includes coffee, tea, water and a bottle of beer with each course. Reservations and payment must be made at the Cameron County Chamber of Commerce office by October 14. Seating is limited to 80 and you must be 21 to attend.
