John A. "JR" Ramsey, 88, of Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA
died at the Manor Saturday night (January 9, 2016)
He was born July 8, 1927 in Bolivar, PA a son of the late Frank and Helen Miller Ramsey.
On April 28, 1951 in First Presbyterian Church, Emporium he married the late Ruth Hammersley Ramsey.
Mr. Ramsey and his late wife Ruth owned and operated the former JR Auto and Truck Repair, in Emporium, for many years. He was a merchant marine during World War II. During that time he circled the world seven times over. He was an avid airplane enthusiast, a private pilot and a member of the Emporium Pilot Club. He loved flying.
Years ago he built and flew his own home built biplane.
