Fundraising for the
July 2014 fireworks underway this week in Cameron County. The Firequacker 2014 duck derby will be held
in conjunction with the Sinnemahone 50K Race on Saturday October 19. Rubber ducks can be adopted for $2.00 a piece
or a six-quack for $10.00.
On Saturday
at 5pm prior to the race awards ceremony the ducks will be plunged off the
Broad Street bridge and race to the finish line in South Park! The first three ducks that cross the finish
line first will win cash prizes ranging from $100.00 to $50.00. Ducks can be adopted at the chamber office, during the Cameron County Fair in August, or
at participating businesses and manufacturers.
The 2013 fireworks
were a huge success and drew hundreds of people from throughout the region
because of the donations made to the fundraisers including the Firequacker
Race. This year the goal is $7,000.00. Please consider supporting the Cameron county
Fireworks that are planned for Saturday July 5, 2014.
