Cameron County Penn State Cooperative Extension is proud to announce the start of winter sessions for The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) 10-14 held at Memorial Hall. The program, in accordance with the PROSPER (Promoting School, Community and University Partnerships to Enhance Resilience) model, offers family the opportunity to spend quality time with one another.
SFP 10-14 is a free program that encourages the use of role-playing, discussion, and games to improve family dynamics. It is designed to help parents of fifth and sixth graders more effectively encourage positive behaviors with their children while discouraging risk-taking behaviors such as alcohol and drug use.
SFP 10-14 is for ALL families and provides many fun and positive experiences. It is free and includes dinner, childcare for children 10 and under, games and the opportunity to win prizes.
The workshops are one day a week for seven weeks and begin February 13, 2011 from 4pm-6:30pm at Memorial Hall.
