What a sweet night at Sarah Jane’s Art Studio.
A huge THANK YOU to all the ladies who came out to laugh, connect, and help kick off our very first Women’s Night! We squeezed a lot of joy into two hours: a short devotional, an icebreaker game, lots of laughter, yummy snacks, meaningful fellowship, great ideas for the future… and yes, everyone went home with a little gift bag. 😄 (Let’s all pretend that’s totally normal… because gift bags probably won’t happen every week! 🤣)
One thing I want everyone to know is that this group isn’t about Mary Kay or me.
We’re simply the facilitators. This group will become whatever the women who show up help create. Your ideas will build it. Your gifts and talents will build it. Your voice will build it.
So if you’ve ever thought, “I wish there was a women’s group that…”
finish that sentence by showing up!😊 You get to help shape the culture, the conversations, the activities, and the community we’re building together.
One thing that may surprise some people is that this isn’t really a traditional Bible study. I already host that at the studio on Thursdays from 1 to 2 pm. We will begin each evening with a short devotional, but the rest of the night is all about doing life together.
Some weeks we’ll make crafts. Other weeks we might invite local artisans or makers to teach us something new. We may have guided discussions, game nights, or simply enjoy good food and conversation. Maybe we’ll choose a book to read together for a month and spend our time discussing it instead of doing a devotional. We might learn a new skill, serve our community, invite a guest speaker, invite a musician to play, or sometimes… we’ll just hang out. Every week doesn’t have to look the same, and that’s part of the fun!
And here’s something else that’s important…
You do not have to belong to a certain denomination or even consider yourself a person of faith to come. All we ask is that you bring even the tiniest crack of an open heart and an open mind. ❤️
This isn’t a place for gossip. It isn’t a place to build cliques or exclude people. It’s a safe space where women can simply come as they are, breathe a little, laugh a lot, and hopefully leave feeling more loved, more seen, and a little more inspired than when they walked through the door.
There are a lot of lonely people in our community. I know, because I’ve been one of them. I remember what it felt like to walk into a crowded room and still feel completely alone. If that’s you… maybe it’s time to try walking into a different room.
And if you’re thinking, “Well… I don’t really like Sarah Jane,” that’s okay too! 😂 You don’t have to like me. I promise there are plenty of other wonderful women there that you probably will like! Besides… this night isn’t about me. It’s about creating a place where women can encourage one another, grow together, and experience women’s fellowship in an authentic community.
One thing will never change, though: Jesus will always remain at the center of it all. ❤️
I’m so excited to see what God does through this group, and I can’t wait to gather again next Tuesday night at the studio! Bring a friend, bring your ideas, and most importantly… just bring yourself.
