Robert D. Foster, 75, of 2015 Old West Creek Rd., Emporium, PA
passed away at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Monday afternoon (June 20, 2022). He was born May 20, 1947 in St. Marys, PA a son of the late Charles E. and Lucile Gay Foster.
Bob was a graduate of Cameron County High School in the class of 1965. He served with a US Army in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was a former employee of Sylvania and also Bosch and Lomb. Then he began a 20 year career as a truck driver. He later was a long time employee of NAPA Auto Parts Stores. He served as a secretary/treasurer of the Miller-Raffaele Post 6221, VFW and also served as a Past Commander of the post from 1995 to 1999. He was a life member of the American Legion Olkosky-Jessop Post #194, Emporium, PA and also served the Vietnam Veterans Association, Chapter #720 Kersey, PA. He was also a member of the St. Marys Eagles Aerie #536, the May Hollow Sportsman Club, Sinnamahoning Sportsman Club and the Christabel Club. Bob was an avid bowler and a member of the 300 club. He loved to play the game of golf with his buddies.
Bob is survived by a daughter, April (Michael) Smith, Emporium; two grandchildren: Tasha and Trae; one great granddaughter Aspen; brother, Richard Foster, Emporium; companion, Sally Schloder, Emporium; Sally's children: Scott (Jane) Schloder and family, St. Marys; Cheryl (William) Delaney and family, Pittsburgh; Craig (Monica) Schloder and family, St. Marys; Hope (Joe) Dunkle and family, Emporium; former late companion Marion Hallowells children: Debbie Hallowell and David "Bucket" Hallowell, Emporium.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Lucile Gay Foster, Sr.; two sisters, Dorothy Sherwood and Audrey McKeirnan; former companion Marion Hallowell and her son Donald Hallowell,
Funeral Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Friday (June 24, 2022) at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kenneth Bailey, officiating.
A Military Service will be accorded by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Visitation will be at the Barnett Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00-1:45 PM prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery, Emporium, PA
