Thomas A. Nickler, 99, of 110 E. Fourth St., Emporium, PA formerly of Rich Valley died at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys, PA on Friday morning (January 1, 2021). He was born October 8, 1921 in Emporium, PA a son of the late Benjamin and Lena Mahon Nickler. He married the late Marie Williams.
Tom graduated from Emporium High School and served with the US Armys 8th armored division during WW II. He retired from Sylvania where he worked for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy (Tony) Lewis, Emporium, PA; Sue Ann (Thomas) Armstrong, Rolla, MO; two sons, John M. (Susan) Nickler, Ballwin, MO; Thomas P. (Kathy) Nickler, St. Johns, FL; twelve grandchildren: Patrick, Erin, David, Christine, Matthew, Cathy, Michael, Benjamin, Bryan, Christopher, Andrew and Michael; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
There will be no Visitation.
A Private Memorial Service will be held at the Barnett Funeral Home, 207 E. Fourth Street, Emporium, PA on Tuesday (January 5, 2021) at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Short officiating and a Military Service to follow by the Cameron County Memorial Detail.
Burial will be in the Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau, PA
