Todd Deluccia, Watershed Specialist and Johnmark Burdick from the Cameron County Conservation District, updated the Rotary club on the state of the local streams and fishing in the county at the luncheon meeting February 26th. This past year working with the Fish & Boat Commission, the CC Conservation District assessed the overall health of many of the streams and now most are considered Class A with an abundance fish. This summer, other streams will be evaluated and with funding from the past train derailment, will be testing the streams for Hellbenders, a salamander type amphibian, the fourth largest in North America.
