The weekend of August 25-26, 2018, Sinnemahoning State Park is offering four great opportunities to learn more about the natural resources of our area. Programs include a guest presentation on elk management in Pennsylvania, monarch butterfly tagging, and campground talk on hummingbirds on Saturday, followed by a Sunday breakfast-and-kayaking program at the lake. Program details include:

Monarch Butterflies - Saturday, August 25, 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Help scientists learn more about the fall migration of monarchs. Program begins in classroom of the Wildlife Center with a PowerPoint presentation then moves outdoors to catch, tag, and release butterflies. Walk will cover about ½ mile over uneven ground. All ages welcome to attend.

Elk in Pennsylvania - Saturday, August 25, 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Join Pennsylvania Game Commission elk biologist, Jeremy Banfield, for a fascinating look into the life of one of our largest, most intriguing wild animals.
