Floating the First Fork

Relax on an inner tube while learning about the waters and woodlands of the First Fork Sinnemahoning Creek. Inner tubes and life vests provided. Group size limited. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
Stream Study
Saturday, September 3
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
40 Maples Day Use Area
Wade into the cool water to catch crayfish and other stream-dwelling animals. Explore the aquatic food chain and learn more about water quality. Water shoes or boots are recommended. This free DiscoverE program is intended for families with children ages 4-12.
Wild Pennsylvania Ginseng

Wildlife Center classroom
Learn how to identify wild ginseng and get the current information on harvest seasons, regulations and licensing. Learn where to find ginseng in PA and find out which lands are closed to ginseng harvest.
Fun with Frogs
Sunday, September 4
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
40 Maples Day Use Area
Hop on over to 40 Maples Day Use area to learn more about frogs, toads and the habitats they live in. Then join park staff on a short walk to search the ponds for some of these amazing amphibians. This free DiscoverE program is intended for families with children ages 4-12.
